Long time no blog.

Well this poor little neglected blog hasn't seen a post in quite some time!  I've had several projects over the last few months that I haven't found time to share but instead of playing catch up I'm taking the easy road and starting with the here and now.

I've gone back and forth as to whether or not to continue accepting orders for blog designs.  I am after all a full time Mama and sometimes it can seem like a bit much to try to throw anything else into the mix.  That being said I also really enjoy the creative outlet that designing brings so for now I will continue to take orders.  Thanks to everyone who has supported this little outlet for me!

This month I designed blogs for a couple of sweet girls.  First up Jacci!  Jacci is the little sister of one of my friends from high school and fellow blogger Jessica.  She is a newlywed and was looking for a little place to pursue her passion of baking.  The answer a blog!  Oh Crumb to be exact, isn't it cute!!?

Next up is Krista.  She was referred by a friend and I love the cool vibe that her blog is now putting off. Best of luck with the school year ahead Krista!

Last but not least I also want to share a logo design that I recently completed.  I'm kind of in love with the modern simplicity of it...

It belongs to a sweet entrepreneur named Mary.  She is one of Carter's favorite people.  She lives on a farm and makes fabulous wares that she is now selling, when I grow up I want to be just like her!

I'll be better about sharing things as they are completed...promise, promise!!  See you soon!!

Where's My Background??

Hi y'all!  I know many of you are experiencing issues with your background and signatures.  I offer up my sincerest apologies and hate the inconvenience for you!

The short version is that every web design uses a site to host their images and I chose Photobucket.  They have been very reliable in the past.  Unfortunately they seem to be experiencing some sort of site outage that is affecting my account.  They continue to assure customers they are working to fix the problem (if you would like to keep up with their updates this is the link to their blog click HERE).

I would be happy to remove your current background image (which would leave you with a solid white background) until this issue is resolved.  If you would be interested in this option feel free to email me at beth@bethsaxton.com.

I realize it has been a few days and I am hopeful they will resolve things quickly.  Thank you so much for your business and patience!  Feel free to email me with any questions!!

The new and improved Shutterfly

I mentioned in my last post Christmas and the impending gift giving that is upon us. For most people Christmas also means "card sending". I thought I would share with you that I just finished perusing the always popular Shutterfly and am happy to report that they have some really fresh modern options this year! I was so impressed and slightly smitten with several of their cards. And considering the fact they are offering 50 free cards to bloggers I feel certain one of their designs may be making it into our friends and families mailboxes! I've also been considering turning some of our favorite photos into calendars and giving them as gifts, and they've got some great options for that as well. Last but not least, if you need a cute tag to attach to your gifts they've got you covered. I'm all about companies that make giving and doing it in style a little easier and this year Shutterfly fits the bill! Happy hunting!

Just a thought...

With Christmas around the corner I know I've got what to give on my mind! One of the things that makes such a wonderful present (I know it's become a staple item for me, especially for grandparents) is a great framed photo of your family and kiddo's.

I have found that I really enjoy life on the other side of a camera lens. So for anyone out there who is local to me (San Antonio area, with a weekend or two in Abilene coming up) I would be more than happy to snap your family. I'm not thrilled at the thought of the printing process so you would receive a disc with all of your photos and they would be yours to print, email, and use in whatever way you see fit! The cost for a session and CD would be $100.

It's just a thought, but if anyone is interested please feel free to email me at beth@bethsaxton.com.

Happy Gift Hunting!

p.s. I'm not going to be doing any Christmas card designing this year...I just don't have the time. But, I highly recommend heading over to Minted it's like heaven for paper lovers!

Beauty and the Blog

Summer has a way of keeping us busy! I am the first to admit I lose track of time and maybe just life in general a little more during the summer. I am happy to say though that I've still managed to squeeze in a little "blog beauty" this summer! Just wanted to share the latest with you. I enjoyed so much working on each of the following blogs and I'm so thankful for those of you that allow me to exercise my creativity through your blogs!! If you are interested in checking out any of the following designs in a little more detail just click on the image and take a visit...they are all wonderful!

First up the adorable Cooper Family. Christina and I went to UMHB together and she wanted something fun, but not too girly! I think we got it just right...

Then there is the Allman Family. I got way back with these guys, we all attended UMHB together as well. Jason is currently serving on a deployment and they needed a new "combat ready" look! They are an awesome family...

Next up The Cromwell Family. Kimzey is a friend of one of my first military buddies Elaine and she is jumping into blogging and expecting her first baby! I'm sure he will be adorable because his mom is beautiful!! I love the traditional yet modern feel that her blog took on...

I also love the way the next blog turned out! I used some great elements from Aja Abney and it is so fun and whimsical! The name just adds to the charm!

And last, but certainly not least, my friend Elaine (as mentioned earlier)! Her blog is private, so no link here, but she is expecting and needed a fun way to break the news!! I was happy to help!

That's it for now. Hope you enjoy the rest of the Summer and keep cool!!

This Is Fun!

After going through the process of creating a new blog design for a customer I really love the feeling I get when I read the final email back from them. It usually (if I'm lucky) says something to the effect of, "YAY, I love it!" It makes me so happy to be able to make someone else just a little happier to be blogging. To know that they smile when they open up there page. I'm proud to present a couple of my latest "happy customers". The First is Beth (great name by the way). Beth is a self proclaimed lover of anthropologie, vintage (think birdcages and typewriters, Audrey Hepburn, and the color blue. I was really happy with the way her blog turned out (click here to take a peek yourself)...

Next up is a blog I just finished for some of our sweet friends Jason and Jessica. Nate and Jason started their military "careers" together. Jason wasn't married at the time so it's cool to have seen him go from bachelor to hitched with two boys! They are a great family and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to spruce up their blog (click here to check it out)...

So happy to get to spend a little bit of my spare time doing this, man is it fun!

Cheerful is the New Black

I've decided that there is nothing that makes me happier than running across a cheerfully designed blog. It just seems so nice to get to enjoy a little color and fun as you are catching up or reading the latest and greatest in the blog world. So, I'm happy to report that a couple of my latest designs are, in a word, Cheery!

First up Ashley at Sweet Southern Prep. She is enlightening the blog world on all things Southern and Preppy and I think her new design shows that off in style...

Thanks Ashley!!

Then there is "B" at Sincerely B. B blogs about her adorable family and has a rockin' ETSY shop called Mod Memento that is right up my alley. She had a header that she liked so I tweaked it just a little and then added a fun striped background and some sweet frames to show off her beautiful family....

Thanks B!!

I am looking forward to continue spreading cheer through blog land. Don't forget orders placed before the end of April receive $5 off. A couple of weeks left to take advantage!
